Regular, open communication and consultation between home and school is highly valued at St. Gilbert’s RC Primary School. The parent forum aims to represent the views of all parents and to be a voice to inform our school of the needs of children and families. It facilitates communication between parents/carers and staff and governors. The forum works to provide feedback on provision, offer a parent's perspective on current policy and practice and input into decision making and planning for future provision.
The forum is not in place to address specific concerns about an individual child or issues relating to individual members of staff. Parents who need to discuss these issues should approach their class teacher or the Head of School. The operation of the forum is dictated by the Constitution which is approved at the start of each new session.
The parent forum's membership is made up of parents and carers of children attending St. Gilbert’s Primary School. We aim to have a representative for each class. Members of the senior leadership team and at least one representative of the governing body also attend meetings. The membership is reviewed annually as per the constitution.
Our representatives for 2016/17 are:
Nursery: Mrs. Bradborn
Reception: Mr. Thompson
Y1: Mr/Mrs. Foster
Y2: Ms. Outram
Y3: Mrs. Glynn-Atkins
Y4/5: Mrs. Keogh
Y5: Mrs. Clarke
Y6: Miss Donaghy
Parent forum meetings are held every term. The agenda is prepared in advance of the meeting and circulated by email. A typical agenda includes:
If another parent should wish to raise an issue they can do so via a Parent representative or through raising it with a member of the Senior Leadership Team in advance of the meeting.
Agendas and minutes for each meeting are published below following approval of the forum.
